A fun little autumn outing.

I don't know about you guys, but I get really wrapped-up in seasons and holidays. I love to get into the spirit by decorating my apartment, donning the appropriate clothes, and keeping up the little traditions that have been a part of my routine since I was a kid. And since fall is quickly approaching here in Oklahoma, I've been getting into the mood by putting out my Halloween decor, cozying up in my favorite sweaters, and of course, making my annual trip to the pumpkin patch with my love!

You will find things like this set up all over town during this time of the year, but we like this one because a) it's the biggest one in the area and b) it just happens to be less than a mile from where we live. We don't have any kids, but I'm thoroughly convinced that you don't have to be a parent in order to have fun doing things like this- especially if you're a kid at heart. Here are some photos from our visit to the pumpkin patch.

What are some of the things you do to celebrate the fall season?

  1. I recognize that pumpkin patch! I took photos at it when I worked for the paper. My only fall rituals are dressing warmly!

  2. It is time for me to get out the faux carved pumpkin and plug it in. I have other Halloween decorations, but I am not getting them out this year.

My son will get a big pumpkin and carve it for for grandson.

I do have gourds to pull fromt he vine so they can dry all winter.

  13. That sounds like a great day. I completely agree about little ritualistic touches being fun for adults too. I am not doing anything special for fall other than making buckets of soup and dressing up for Halloween.

  15. It looks like Autumn in your neck of the woods : ) Hubby and I are planning on visiting some spooky sites in MD & checking out a haunted house/trail. We'll probably carve some pumpkins and make pumpkin soup as well. Enjoy!

  16. I love Halloween too! It's got to be my favourite holiday, its starting to catch on here in Australia, we never celebrated it when we were kids sadly. I wish we had things like pumpkin patches here, I guess it's not really the right season for it, being spring! Will you be making a jack'o'lantern?
I missed your previous post, but I just wanted to let you know I think your stall is looking really awesome, I really love your bookmarks and the little squirrel ornaments are too cute, it's no wonder you had lots of sales!
Thank you so much for always leaving me such kind and encouraging comments, I always get excited when I see I had received a comment from you, cause I can tell you are really sincere with everything you write.

I'm the same as you. My decor changes per season haha and I become a little obsessed with each change. Autumn is my definate favorite though.
We go to the pumpkin patch, Decorate, Make season food(pumpkin alfredo and caramel apples), and dress up on Halloween.
