Relief for Haiti in my Etsy Shop

I have finally found the time to open my etsy shop back up, and I wanted to do something special in the process. Contributing to the disaster relief efforts in Haiti is something I really wanted to do, so I created a section in my shop dedicated to this purpose. If you purchase any of the items in this section, 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Doctors Without Borders- a team of physicians who travel to areas of crisis and provide emergency medical care. They currently have an inflatable hospital set up in Haiti, where they are working wonders every day.

You may be curious as to what kind of things you will find in my new "Relief for Haiti" section. Well, friends, I will show you.

Clockwise from top left: Vintage Key Necklace- $11, Rainbow Bracelet with Vintage Charms- $8, Murano Glass Earrings with Freshwater Pearls and Sterling Silver- $10, Imagine Bookmark- $4, Fossilized Coral Wire-wrapped Pendant- $10.

If you're like me and you've been deeply affected by the situation in Haiti, this would be a great opportunity to donate to the relief efforts and end up with a lovely item in the process. I've even come up with some ideas for how you might put your purchase to good use.

(1.) Keep it for yourself, the most obvious choice. It doesn't feel so indulgent to treat yourself to something new when you know that your money went straight to charity.
(2.) Give the Murano Glass Earrings as a gift at a birthday party, baby shower, or bridal shower.
(3.) Use the Imagine Bookmark to find your spot when you're reading a wonderfully impossible fantasy story.
(4.) Purchase the Fossilized Coral Pendant, mention in the "notes to seller" box when you check out that you'd like to have it made into a keychain (free of charge), and give it to the history buff in your family for Father's Day.
(5.) Wear the Vintage Rainbow Bracelet with your favorite 80's inspired outfit.
(6.) For the fellas- buy the Vintage Key Necklace and give it to your sweetie for Valentine's day. Tell her it's the key to your heart. Watch her swoon and graciously receive the hundreds of kisses she'll plant all over your face.

I promised that I'd be sharing the rest of my vacation photos in this post, but it would appear that I lied. I hope you'll forgive me, because I just thought this was much more important. I will definitely come through with my promise in the next post, and I've got pictures of our new house to show you too! Until then, I'd love to know how these recent events have affected you. Did you rediscover how precious and fragile life is? Perhaps you've heard of a wonderful organization or charity. And maybe you know of other etsy sellers and companies who are participating in the relief efforts. I'd love for you to tell me about them! I hope you're all having a wonderful, safe weekend filled with lots of smiles. :-)
