Vintage madness!!!

I've loved vintage clothes, jewelry, and knick knacks (I just had to enlist google's help to make sure I was spelling that correctly- I've never seen the word "knick knack" in print before) since I was a teenager trying to set myself apart from the crowd. And it seems that lots of other people had the same idea, because there are quite a few people (especially on etsy) who seem to share my passion for things that are funky, retro, gaudy, psychedelic, and fun. Which is awesome, because not only do you end up with an item that you won't see everyday on the shelves of bargain closeout stores, but you are also reusing things that still have tons of life and purpose. Yay vintage!

Now let me step off my soapbox and introduce two of my favorite vintage finds, which also happen to be for sale in my etsy shop. How convenient!!

This ring is made from a vintage button in an amazing teal green. I love these buttons because they shimmer and glow in a way that makes me think of a crystal ball. So pretty much what I'm trying to say is that I know everything that will happen in the future, all thanks to this ring:

I love the way it looks when the sun hits it.

These vintage beads previously resided on a necklace, but they are so bright and chunky that I found the necklace to be too much. Plus the string looked as if it had seen better days. So I chopped the necklace up and gave these beautiful beads a new life- as earrings!

Who else is addicted to vintage supplies?? I know that some people would see these things as tacky, and disregard them as junk. But I guess it just goes to show that one (wo)man's trash is another (wo)man's treasure. Because I felt like I had unearthed a fatty gold nugget when I came across these!

Aw, thanks Renee! Are you diggin' the crunchberries? Tara has some of those earrings, she traded me for a shirt (which I wore today) when we were set up at Reggaefest.
