With Valentine's Day fast approaching, chances are your feelings about love are amplified. I've seen so many people get a bitter attitude toward this holiday. Single people feel left out, clueless lovers wonder what to buy, and hipsters all over the world refuse to take part in "greeting card holidays". So since we're in the thick of it right now, I wanted to use the opportunity to feel you out. You might believe that I've got a sunshine and rainbows outlook on love, and for the most part that is true. But I've been on the other end too, cursing the day I became so careless with my heart and my trust.
If you're looking for a fun way to celebrate Valentine's Day, or even if you're just in the market for some crafty time with friends, I've got the perfect event for you. On Wednesday, February 8th from 5 to 7 pm, I'll be teaching a class at the brand new Indie Emporium Shop. And it just so happens we will be hacking romance novels to pieces.
So if you've got issues with love and you want to take out that aggression in a way that is creative and productive, come participate in this project with us. If your approach is to giggle flirtatiously while you clip away at the juicy bits of the story, that's great. But you're also welcome to cry, pout, rage, and throw a love-induced fit. We won't judge.
Tell me how you feel about love...
XOXOXO

There you go, "[feeling me] out" again! =) Boy, Holly, Valentine's Day has you all fresh w/ me! Bahahaha
I used to be very grumble grumble about Valentine's Day, and I still think all the crazy commercial side is absolutely useless... why would anyone need proof of love in the shape of expensive stuff or risk anger from their loved ones? But with that said, there's always ways to make that day special in a way that belongs to you and those you love.
I'm happy I'm spending V-day this year with G, and that's a luxury to me, since we can't always be together by that date, and since neither of us is sure of when in Feb is our anniversary, we tend to celebrate it that day! I got a very cute card for him, with a qwerty code, so it doesn't have to be about Hallmarks and diamonds! ;)
I love love, and I think when I have a good man I'll actually love the opportunity to celebrate it. Right now I'm pretty neutral on the day itself, but I seriously, seriously, want those diamond commercials to die in a ball of fire.
I'm married with children so valentines day is pretty dull here... actually I don't think we've every done the valentines day thing. The most romantic my husband gets is when he's drunk and tries to 'feel me up'. Sigh.
However I love crafts and think the coasters sound awesome plus they give your guests something to read during those awkward pauses in conversation, lol.
Oh that sounds like fun! Maybe you can post a DIY sometime for us out of towners :)
And there's that quote ... Better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.
Great post! I think Valentines day is wonderful, even if your single you can still buy cute heart shaped chocolate!
