Like this sunshiny little guy for instance. Don't let his pretty face fool you though. His leaves reminded me of Venus flytraps, with tiny spikes emerging from the edges. I believe it's a camphorweed.
Apparently my camera lens is superior to my eyesight, because I had no idea that this particular flower had a tiny web spun around it until I uploaded the photos. Do you see it?
One of my favorite wildflowers is the thistle. They seem so bright and exotic to me, like they should be growing on a tropical island somewhere. Yet they grow like crazy right here in Oklahoma.
This dude found a cozy place to rest on top of a fluffy purple bud.
These were all taken at my dad's pond last week. I didn't get to take any photos of the Indian Paintbrushes in my area this year. The only ones I saw were on the side of the road, and while I have been known to pull over my car and get out for a good photo, I try not to do it very often. ;-)
What kind of flowers grow wild where you live? Which are your favorites?

Ahh, what great cheery pics on such a rainy day! I can see the web.
Those are really lovely shots you took Holly!
You take amazing photo's!! Don't think my little digital camera would do that.
Love the spider web!!
Me too girl, I also love thistle. It is so gorgeous. My friend says a flower is an educated weed. I really respect weeds!
Holly, thankyou for your sweet comment. You certainly dont have to be vegetarian to eat vegetarian :)
Your flower pictures are lovely, its a shame we dont have thistles in Australia...well at least i havent seen any.
Wildflowers where i live...soursobs lol. And ugly yellow daisy like flowers, but if you go to the countryside or hills of course there are nicer you could find.

wonderful photos! next spring, if you come out west, there are loads of Mexican poppies on the side of the road from Tucson to Phoenix - carpets of yellow - it's stunning!
You truly have quite abit of knowledge on plants/flowers and many other stuffs! These flowers (and other photos you've posted) are so beautifully taken.. I think you can consider opening another etsy store.
Thank you for the very touching comment on my blog Holly.. you made me want to cry! Just the other day, a friend who had been following my blog told me, 'I noticed you've made quite a few friends in your blog, especially the girl by the name of 'Holly'.. she seemed like a really nice person.' I couldn't agree more. One of the greatest blessings for starting my very own blog is knowing you. Thank you for everything! :)

ah you have such great photos! the wildflowers are so nice to see since the weather has been so bland and wet :/
Ooh very pretty! Yes, wildflowers are so sweet to find, since they will pop up here and there and be like little surprises. :)
Those are beautiful! :)
lovely pictures!
Very cheerful...brightened up my day!xx
Beautiful pictures! I love wildflowers as well. As for my favorite commercial choices, I love Tulips and Calla liles : )
I much prefer wild and carefree flowers than a manicured garden.
Love your pics ! I love blue bells they grow wild in the woods.
love the thistle! I love especially the Queen Anne's Lace you see growing along the road. so delicate and sweet.
Holly, your wildflower pics are really lovely. If you ever come to Australia, you must visit the Western Australian coast! It has the most beautiful wildflower season (June - November) you ever did see.
I was lucky enough to be on a road trip holiday when I was 12, travelling down the Western coastline, and one of my most favourite memories was my Dad driving us along a dirt road, he put his hand out the window, and after a moment, pulled it back in with a beautiful big bunch of wildflowers!
If you have a spare moment, Google Western Australian Wildflowers, the images are stunning! You would love them :)
what great pics!! I know I sometimes get beaten by a camera too, but let's hope that the camera only shows us webs and such. beyond that...er... um, no thank you.
I love orchids and sunflowers, maybe because they can grow well in my side of world.
I love the yellow ones, the pictures came out really good.
so pretty! I love flowers! When I was little and living in Texas, my parents used to take pictures of us in the bluebonnet fields every year:)
Well if we had lovely wild flowers like that around here, i'd love them too!
:)
OMG Holly! The pictures are awesome. I love flowers but I have really bad hand taking care of them. Maybe could be to much water or I don't know :-((( My favorite flower is a White Rose!
Love your post!
Lolo :-)
